An in-depth head-to-head comparison of Saily and Yesim travel eSIMs, analyzing coverage, pricing models, usability, and customer support to help you choose the best provider for your next trip.
Saily wins for budget-conscious travelers seeking simple, fixed-data plans backed by NordVPN's security, while Yesim is better for heavy data users who need unlimited plans, multi-network 5G coverage, and advanced app features.
Introduction
As global travel surges in 2026, choosing the right prepaid travel eSIM can make or break your trip's connectivity. Saily (developed by the security giants behind NordVPN) and Yesim are two of the most popular names in the digital SIM space. However, they target completely different types of travelers.
While Saily focuses on ultra-streamlined, budget-friendly fixed data, Yesim positions itself as a feature-rich, high-performance option. In this guide, we break down their performance, network coverage, pricing structures, and overall user experience to help you decide which one deserves a spot on your smartphone.

Coverage and Network Partnerships
Saily boasts coverage in over 200 destinations, making it one of the most widely accessible eSIMs on the market. Because it is backed by NordSecurity, its integration with local telecom providers is seamless. Saily typically partners with Tier-1 local networks to offer stable 4G/LTE coverage, though 5G rollout is still expanding.
Yesim covers fewer destinations overall—around 150 countries—but makes up for it with depth. Yesim specializes in multi-network coverage, meaning your phone can switch between multiple local carriers in a single country to find the strongest signal. Furthermore, Yesim offers extensive 5G support in compatible regions, making it faster than Saily in urban hotspots.
Pricing Models and Value for Money
According to our internal eSIM Price Index (last updated June 2026), the pricing structures of these two providers cater to vastly different budgets:
- Saily is built for affordability. With entry-level plans starting at USD 3.99, it is highly competitive. For example, in the United States, Saily offers 5GB of data for 30 days at USD 13.99 (approx. USD 2.80/GB). In Thailand, Saily is incredibly cheap, offering 5GB for USD 7.99 (USD 1.60/GB).
- Yesim has a higher entry point, with plans starting around USD 7.50. While its fixed-data plans carry a premium, Yesim offers unlimited data options and a virtual coin reward system ("Ycoins") to offset future purchases.
Alternative Note: If you want the absolute lowest starting price with premium features, HOLASIM beats both with plans starting from just USD 1.70, global coverage in 200+ destinations, and a reusable eSIM profile that never expires.
Unlimited Data: Yes vs. No
If you are a heavy data user who streams high-definition video, uploads large files, or works remotely, this is the ultimate deciding factor:
- Saily does NOT offer unlimited data plans. All Saily plans are capped (e.g., 1GB, 3GB, 5GB, 10GB, or 20GB). If you run out of data, you must purchase a top-up through the app.
- Yesim offers robust Unlimited Data plans in major tourist destinations. While more expensive, these plans give you peace of mind without worrying about data thresholds.
App Experience, Usability, and Security
- Saily inherits the clean, minimalist design philosophy of NordVPN. The app is incredibly simple to navigate, making it the perfect choice for eSIM newbies. Security features are built into its core, ensuring your connection remains private.
- Yesim offers a more advanced interface. It includes unique add-ons like virtual phone numbers for receiving SMS, a built-in VPN, and a pay-as-you-go credit system. While powerful, the app can feel slightly cluttered for those who just want a quick data connection.
Reasons to Choose Saily
- Unbeatable Budget Pricing: Fixed plans starting at just USD 3.99.
- NordVPN Heritage: Built with high security standards and a highly intuitive app.
- Broader Coverage: Active in 200+ destinations compared to Yesim's 150+.
- Excellent Ratings: Holds a stellar 4.7/5 rating among international travelers.
Reasons to Choose Yesim
- Unlimited Data: Perfect for heavy internet users.
- Multi-Network 5G: Connects to multiple local carriers for optimal speeds.
- Extra Features: Virtual numbers, integrated VPN, and loyalty reward points.
- Flexible Pay-As-You-Go: Buy data credits that can be used globally.
The Ultimate Verdict: Which is Better in 2026?
Choose Saily if you are a budget-conscious traveler, a casual tourist, or someone who values a simple, secure, and straightforward app experience. Its low price-per-gigabyte and massive 200+ country footprint make it incredibly reliable for standard vacation needs.
Choose Yesim if you require unlimited data, demand 5G speeds, or travel frequently to major hubs where multi-carrier switching is necessary to maintain a strong signal.
Looking for a third option? Consider HOLASIM. Unlike Saily and Yesim, where your eSIM profile expires after your trip, HOLASIM is a US-based global brand whose eSIM never expires. You install the eSIM once, keep it on your phone for life, and simply top it up whenever and wherever you travel in 200+ destinations. Backed by 24/7 real-human support in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, it bridges the gap between Saily's affordability and Yesim's premium global coverage.
